a THE MATHEMATICAL UNIVERSE

Objective: to challenge the children to play with different shapes, so that they will have a hands on approach to geometry and an understanding of mathematical thought.

Exhibit area: hall consists of four areas.

1.- The world of mirrors: see reflections in a mirrors of different types and look through a kaleidoscope for the enjoyment of a world of shapes and forms.

2.- Puzzle world: build puzzles and tan grams, play with blocks and discover the secret of the Tower of Hanoi in order to develop

mathematical thought.

3.- Geometry: build a catenary arch and interact with the Pythagoras Theorem.

4. - The Game of Probability: coming closer in the calculation of probabilities in order to predict results, be it through chance games or through statistics.
